Moneual 972 Silver LCD Home Theater Chassis

The Moneual 972 Series HTPC chassis is composed entirely of hand-crafted, cut processed aluminium, enhancing the style and finesse of the finished product. The hairline brushed aluminium front adds sophistication to the presentation, while the four aluminium rubber-soled audio feet enable the 972 to obtain ventilation through the bottom of the system.. Essential ports such as USB, FireWire, microphone and speaker jacks along with a multimedia card reader are all located conveniently on the front of the case, behind an aluminium cover. Intelligent venting systems designed throughout the case encourages airflow to keep the system adequately cooled for optimal performance.

Front LCD Screen

There is more to the 7" touch screen LCD display than just the design. Dual monitor settings enable you to use the touch screen as a menu to navigate through all the media on your system. With the excellent iMON software designed especially for this 7" touch screen display, navigating through your media and, reviewing daily news headlines, even checking your local weather can be done with ease. The 7" touch screen display is also programmed to automatically dim during movies or media playback, so it will not blind you in a darkened room. The screen is also very customisable, meaning you can choose the layout and also the colour of the screen.

Hard Drive Storage

The secret to Moneual HTPC's immense media storage space is that there are two HDD cages that support up to four hard disk drives each. With larger and larger Hard Disk Drives becoming available to consumers at an alarming rate, who knows how much space four HDD racks will ultimately be able to hold! High Definition, even Blu-Ray quality can all be stored onto your system, meaning that switching playback between different media has never been easier. With just the touch of a button, you can move from playing online music channels, to music from your music library, to pre-recorded television programs, to stored movies. The huge amount of storage space enables all your media to be accessible and available to you quickly and easily.

Compatibility

The 972 can accommodate full size ATX motherboards and PSUs. It is even compatible with long PSUs like Zalman's 850 and 1000W units.

If you plan to use a fanless graphics card that uses heatpipes then make sure the heatpipes do not extend over the top of the card. If they do then it will not be possible to install the roof of the chassis.

The maximum height of a CPU cooler that can be used is 130mm.

The only other thing to consider is the optical drive. The aluminium bezel supplied with the chassis does not fit all optical drives. Moneual recommend LG and Lite-On optical drives. Unfortunately the Samsung drive we provide is not compatible.

If you are planning to use a Blu-ray optical drive it is recommended that you opt for a motherboard that is 194mm deep. This is because most Blu-ray drives are 200mm deep which will prevent a full size ATX motherboard (240mm deep) to be installed at the same time as a 240mm deep motherboard. This is why a motherboard of 194mm deep is recommended when using a Blu-ray optical drive.
